About Flat Top Fund

The goal of our Flat Top Fund is to provide financial resources in support of the St. John’s University Men’s Basketball Program.  We will be successful by providing a platform for connecting the program with the right organizations and individuals who care passionately about the overall success of our Men’s Basketball program. Below you will find all of our current sponsors, reach out if you and your business would like to partner with The FlatTop Fund and St. John’s Men’s Basketball Team.

WHO WE ARE

  • The Co-Founders are both dual graduates from the late 90’s and early 00’s.  They were actively involved in the St. John’s Athletic program as students.  One as an elite football player while at St. John’s and the other as a student manager of the Men’s Basketball program.  The Co-Founders were classmates and have remained close friends since their days at St. John’s.

  • They have assembled a top-notch team of advisors for the Flat Top Fund, including:

    • Legal Counsel 

      • Goodwin Law Firm – one of the largest law firms in the world (measured by revenue) with over 1,800+ lawyers across United States, Europe and Asia.  Specific services include: brand partnerships, co-marketing agreements, influencer programs, etc.

      • Darren Adam Heitner – Founder Heitner Legal / NIL Expert

    • Financial Services

      • Morgan Stanley will custody the assets for the Flattop Fund.  (Alex Perez, former student manager of the Men’s Basketball program and classmate of the Co-Founders) will facilitate all transfers of monies to athletes and/or the program.

      • Alex Perez will be available to do a preseason financial literacy symposium with players & staff.  In addition, he will be available to all players & their families who may have any questions with regards to financial guidance and planning. 

  • The key operating documents are in place, including:

    • Operating Agreement for The Flat Top Fund, LLC, Flat Top Fund NIL Athlete Agreement and Flat Top Fund Company Agreement
